We have slides that still have live organisms after 4 months. There are many variables that determine how long a slide will last, such as: organism species, amount of natural food sources present in the water, temperature conditions, etc.

No. You fill Micro Safari Aqua with ecosystems in your own backyard. Most streams, lakes, oceans, etc will be teeming with organisms. The best indicator is if there are animals higher on the food chain feeding from the water source, think, insects, birds, etc. Larger water sources tend to have more organisms present.

Yes, by peeling up the polymer diffusion film, sucking out the water, and replacing the sample you can get 2 - 5 uses out of Micro Safari Aqua, depending on how careful you are not to contaminate the adhesive. If it gets too contaminated it wont make a water-tight seal.

Due to the manufacturing method we are using, cosmetic defects may be present in the edges of the acrylic. This does not effect the usability or function. We are working towards transitioning to injection molding as the manufacturing method, which will improve the cosmetics of the product.

Unfortunately not. We have fully transitioned into producing Micro Safari Aqua, which does not contain any live organisms. We believe that Micro Safari Aqua captures the same experience as the first version of Micro Safari, whilst being less expensive to purchase, re-usable, more personalized, and overall a better product experience.
